This is a hand built urchin serving platter with a natural edge. It is large enough to be used as a serving plate for salads and shallow enough to be used as individual large dinner plates. This smooth matte sea salt glaze is accentuated by the raised black sea urchin dotted pattern. The underside is left without a glaze and always produced super smooth.

Each dish starts out as a flat slab of stoneware. The backside is smoothed to create a natural ethereal finish. I then individually lay out each dot to form the sea urchin design on the top side. I sign, sand and smooth everything to perfection before firing. Finished with a sea salt glaze, these dishes are ready for use.

Because all my work is handmade, each piece may vary slightly in size or color than the photograph. This is what makes each piece unique and beautiful!
